A woman whose testimony was key in a murder trial was given a $250,000 settlement last year.
The Associated Press reported Wednesday that the settlement, announced Wednesday, was for the former girlfriend of former Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray, who was charged in the 2015 death of his girlfriend.
Murray’s attorney said he is confident that his client will prevail.
The Associated Press could not immediately reach Murray’s attorney.
Murray and his former girlfriend, Brittney Woodworth, were found dead on Oct. 13, 2015, in the bathroom of a Dallas apartment complex.
They had been dating for a year and a half.
Murray, who had been suspended for the 2017 season, pleaded guilty to aggravated murder and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
