Toronto Transit Commission president Andy Byford has more than 30 recommendations to make on transit to work in 2018.
Byford says a “transit-first” approach is better for the city, while still offering “quality service” to the public.
“We can do better,” Byford said.
“But the challenges of the world are enormous and we have to get smarter and more creative to survive.
We have to have a transit-first approach.”
Byford’s proposals include more flexible and flexible schedules, an end to weekend bus service on Sundays and holidays, and more bus lanes.
He also wants to open up some subway service in the city.
By the end of 2018, there will be fewer than 10 million people on TTC bus routes.
