Warner Music Group has unveiled a movie adaptation of the Six Musical.
The film will be directed by Peter Landesman, who is producing with Warner Bros. The movie is set to be released on September 20, 2018.
Warner Music said it has received a $15 million production grant from the U.S. government to develop the film.
Warner Bros., Universal Pictures, Warner Home Video and the film’s producers are seeking additional financing to make the film and it has secured support from investors.
The Six Musical will be a musical adventure featuring the voices of David Bowie, George Michael, Sting, Elton John and Elton Chigurh.
The musical was written by David Riese, with music by Paul Simon and lyrics by Tony Bennett and Paul Simon.
It was originally a Broadway production and was a hit.
The music, which featured many of the musicians who were on the hit musical “A Night at the Opera” as well as their original songwriting partners, was released in 1994 and continues to be a pop hit.
